Millions Available for Tobacco Prevention
Ventura County has $1.49 million available in Tobacco-settlement funds through the 2001 Healthy Communities Program. The money is available to
organizations that plan to conduct programs on Tobacco prevention, including those focusing on chronic and communicable diseases, oral health or
elder care. There will be two meetings to assist applicants. To be eligible, an organization must send a representative to at least one of the
meetings. The first meeting will be Monday, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., at Simi Valley Hospital`s Aspen Center, 2750 N. Sycamore Drive. The second meeting
will be Tuesday, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the Public Health Auditorium, 3147 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. LATimes.com
